Plant-based Nutella

My kids are obsessed with the hazelnut chocolate spread, that’s why I decided it was time to create a homemade healthy plant-based version. This sweet treat is refined sugar free, full of fiber and healthy fats and best of all, everyone will love it!

Ingredients: (preferably organic)

  • 2 cups hazelnuts 
  • 1 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted (optional for extra creaminess)

Directions:

01. Pre-heat the oven to 200C and toast the hazelnuts for 6-8 minutes.

02. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until creamy. Add melted coconut oil if needed. Nutella is best kept in glass containers in the fridge up to three weeks.
