I love a sweet treat as an afternoon pick me up and I’m always looking for healthy ways to satisfy my sweet tooth. These almond butter bars hit the spot and even better, they provide you with lots of healthy fats from the almond butter and antioxidants from the dark chocolate.
Ingredients: (preferably organic)
- 1 ⅓ cup almond butter
- 1 cup almond flour
- 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- a pinch of salt
- 1 ½ bar dark vegan chocolate
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- Maldon salt, for garnish
- dried flower petals, for garnish
Directions:
01. In a large bowl, combine the almond butter, almond flour, coconut oil, maple syrup and a bit of salt.
02. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pot of boiling water, mix in the coconut oil and maple syrup.
03. Line a small baking dish with some parchment paper, spread out the almond butter mix and top off with the melted chocolate. Decorate with flower petals and Maldon salt flakes and place in the freezer for up to two hours to set. Remove from the freezer ten minutes before serving and store leftovers in the fridge or freezer.
