I could live on açai bowls, it’s so easy to make them at home and just perfect in this late summer heat. Açai contains powerful antioxidants to lower inflammation and protect the cells and omega-3 fatty acids for brain health. Top with your favorite things and you have the perfect breakfast or light lunch.
Ingredients: (preferably organic)
- 1 pack frozen acai
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 date
- a handful of frozen blueberries
- a handful of frozen strawberries
- splash of coconut water or oat milk
Toppings
- ½ banana, sliced
- a handful blueberries
- a handful raspberries
- a handful strawberries, sliced
- 1 tbsp almond/peanut butter
- hemp seeds, to taste
- cacao nibs, to taste
Directions:
01. Place the frozen açai, banana, frozen blueberries, strawberries and date in a high speed blender and add a tiny splash of oat milk or coconut water. Blend until combined. Tip: It will sound like your blender breaks to make the best frozen açai bowl, key is to not be afraid and use as little coconut water as possible.
02. Pour the açai mix in a bowl, arrange with toppings and enjoy!
